J. Lawrence Mason, M.D.
Dr. Lawrence Mason is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in clear cornea/topical anesthesia cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and diabetic laser surgery. He is a native of Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Mason graduated from Jackson Prep in 1982 and attended Mississippi State University. He graduated from Belhaven College in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology prior to receiving his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1991. Dr. Mason completed an internal medicine internship and ophthalmology residency at the University Medical Center in 1996. He also completed the Basic Science Course in Ophthalmology at Stanford University as well as the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology Course at Georgetown. He joined the Eye Clinic of Meridian in 1999. He enjoys spending time with his wife Ginger and their two kids as well as model railroading, radio controlled aircraft, and woodworking. He and his family are active members of Central United Methodist Church where he serves on the Administrative Council and chairman of the Stewardship Committee. Dr. Mason served as chief of the medical staff of Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in 2006.
